Professor & Director, School of Arts & Humanities
Dr. Payel Dutta Chowdhury is designated as Professor and Director, School of Arts and Humanities. She has 15 years of teaching and administrative experience. She was awarded with Doctoral Degree by Assam (Central) University in 2007 for her research on "Portrayal of the African American Community in the Novels of Gloria Naylor". Under the guidance of Dr. Dipankar Purkayasta, she had made a thorough survey of the representation of the community in African American women's writings from the slave narratives to the contemporary writers like Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou and others, to understand the shift from issues of race to class and gender, as dealt by Gloria Naylor.
Her interest in various fields initiated her to pursue studies in many inter-disciplinary subjects. She holds Masters Degrees in English Literature, Journalism & Mass Communication, Business Administration (HRM), and is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in Women's Studies. Her areas of specialization include American & African American literature, Indian Writings in English, literature in translation, and Gender Studies.
She has published 30 single-authored research papers in national and international journals and edited books. Her research focus is primarily on gender studies. At present she is involved in research projects on North-East Indian literature and translation studies. She has translated a collection of short stories by eminent author, Rajendra Yadav from Hindi to English. She has presented several research papers in national and international seminars and conferences. She is a consultant book reviewer for Deccan Herald newspaper and her reviews and articles are regularly published in the newspaper and may be accessed at www.deccanherald.com/archives.php The reviews have been compiled and printed under the title "Assorted Medley". She takes great interest in contemporary Indian English fiction, specifically the various features of the genre, and her book reviews bring about the immense development in IWE to her readers. Prior to joining REVA University, she has served as HOD-Languages and Vice Principal at Garden City College, Bangalore. She has participated in training programs related to soft skills, innovative techniques in teaching-learning, new methodologies in teaching, etc. She has conducted trainings to staff and students on communication skills, voice culture, soft skills, teaching methodologies, research methodologies, etc. She has organized orientation programs for students and staff and delivered talks on various language components, media studies, communication skills, etc. She has been proactive in organizing conferences and workshops for teachers and students and has always shown active interest in theatrical skills and other performance arts.
She is a member of the Textbook Committee for Optional English of Bangalore University and has been instrumental in bringing out four textbooks (Literary Vistas, I – IV) for the B.A. students. She has authored the study material on "Gender Studies" for M.A. students and "Literatures of India: An Introduction" for 3rd year B.A. Optional English students of Bangalore University (DDE).
She is an active member of All India English Teachers' Association, Association for English Studies in India, MELUS, and ELTAI, and is on the editorial board of various reputed journals.
Senior Assistant Professor
Dr. Sreenivas Murthy . K , Senior Assistant Professor in Commerce and Management, holds Ph. D. in Hindi from Bangalore University. He also holds an M.A (Hindi) degree and PG Diploma in Translation from Bangalore University. He has a teaching experience of 15 years at the UG Level. He worked as an Assistant professor and then as a HOD in AIMS Bangalore for 11 years, He has also worked as a HOD in REVA institute of Science and Technologies, Ganganagar Bangalore for 2 years. His teaching experience includes working as Faculty in Sambhram Academy of Management Studies, Bangalore for 2 years. He has authored and co-authored 2 books on poetry- OOHALA ODILOO and KAVITHA TARANGALU. He has participated in many workshops and has presented a number of papers in National and International conferences. He is also a member of the HINDI Association (Jnan kiran) of Bangalore University.

Dr. C. Chamundeshwari, Assistant Professor, School of Arts & Humanities, holds Ph. D. in 'English Language Teaching' from Anna University, Chennai. Her doctoral thesis focused on 'A Study on Computer Assisted Language Learning', she also holds a M. Phil. in Sociology and MA in English Literature and MA in Sociology with B. Ed. She has 14 years of teaching experience and One year of Industrial Experience. She has published 4 research papers in international journals and presented 6 papers in international conferences and one paper in national conference. Her areas of interest include: English Language Teaching (ELT) and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL).
Ms. Charitra HG
Assistant Professor
Ms. Charitra HG, Assistant Professor, School of Arts and Humanities has an MA in English Literature from Bangalore University. She has 4.5 years of teaching experience. She has published six research papers in reputed journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. She has received 'Three' gold medals from Bangalore University for scoring the highest marks during the course of her master's program.She has completed her 'E-Script Writing Course for Films and Television' organized by St. Xavier College, Kolkata in collaboration with UGC-CEC in 2006. Her areas of interest are British Literature, Critical Theory, Feminist Writing, Industrial Psychology and Journalism. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from Bangalore University.
Mr. Lingappa B.M
Assistant Professor
Prof. Lingappa B.M, Assistant Professor, School of Arts and Humanities, has a vast teaching experience of 32 years. He holds M.A. degree in Kannada with Linguistics as specialization. He is a passionate pursuer of literature learning and teaching. He started his career in 1984 as Asst. Professor in Kannada in SJR College and since 2009 he is working in REVA University. He was also presented with the Best Teacher Award from REVA University. He is a multi-faceted personality adored by his students. He has also been a resource person in many national and international conferences and workshops. He is an active member of the Text Book and Question papers framing committees of many universities. He is enthusiastically involved in organizing the cultural events for the students and strives for their excellence.

Ms. NASREEN GHANI is an Assistant Professor at School of Arts and Humanities. She has a Masters degree in English and has been teaching the subject for the past 20 years in reputed institutions. She has presented and published several papers and articles in reputed national and international journals and conferences. Her interest in translation led her to publish a short story that was translated from Tamil to English. Besides teaching she has worked in different capacities namely, a paper setter, reviewer and examiner for Bangalore University and CMR College. She was one of the members of the Board of Examination for CMR college and REVA University. She has chaired sessions at international conferences, conducted various workshops, and has been actively involved in literary and cultural activities.She has been the recipient of the Appreciation Award from Presidency College for three consecutive years. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D degree at Rayalaseema University.
Mr. Prasad Gowda T S

Prasad Gowda T S, a proficient lecturer in English, is serving in Reva for the past three years in PU and UG, teaching literature and linguistics. He has obtained his MA degree from Bangalore University, and currently pursuing his Ph.D in the same university. This young enthusiast has played a vital role in the making of the movie on food wastage named "Shudh" produced by REVA University and is a part of social awareness club in REVA. His areas of interests are Culture Studies, Gender Studies, and British Literature. He has attended a number of national and International seminars on language, literature, and criticism.

Ms. Radha D. R, Assistant Professor, School of Arts and Humanities, holds MA degree in English from Kuvempu University. She has 3 years of teaching experience. She has attended National level seminars on the topic "Teaching English through classroom Activities" and has published the research paper on the same. She is currently pursuing Ph. D. in ELT from REVA University, Bangalore.

Mr. Rajaneesh Kumar. H.V, Assistant Professor, School of Arts and Humanities, holds an MA degree in English Literature from Bangalore University and M. Phil. Along with an Advanced Diploma in HRM from Azac Management Consultants, Bangalore. He has 9 years of teaching experience and one year of Industrial experience. He was an online tutor for US and UK students in Tutor Vista and TWWI. He has presented papers in international & national conferences. His areas of interest are: English Literature, Critical Theory and Modern Linguistics.

Ms. Shyla Abraham, Asst. Professor, School of Arts and Humanities holds a B Sc in Botany Honours and MA in English Literature .She is also a trained teacher with over 15years of teaching experience. She has completed her certificate courses in Guidance and Counseling and also Teaching English as a second Language. She has attended an International conference on ELT besides having two research publications to her credit, and has received awards for achieving 100 percent results. She has also been on the Board of Examiners of Bangalore University and CMR University. She has attended various workshops and Faculty Development Programs conducted by reputed institutes like Regional Institute of English and British Council (BEC).

Ms. Suzan Karkera, Assistant Professor, School of Arts and Humanities, holds MA in English Literature .She has obtained her CELTA certification (Cambridge English Language Training for Adults) from the British Council, Chennai, in association with Cambridge ESOL, UK. She has been training international students from Beginner to Upper Intermediate levels, Academic skills, and communication skills for about eight years. She is involved in training students for British Council Certified Tests like IELTS. She attended the 9th International ELTAI (English Language teachers Association of India) Conference held in Jaipur. ). She is currently pursuing Ph. D. in ELT from REVA University, Bangalore.

Ms. Vijayalakshmi Sam, Assistant Professor of English, School of Arts and Humanities , a University Rank holder and a Gold Medalist in her Graduation BA and MA. She completed her PGDELT (Post Graduate Diploma in English Language Teaching) and M. Phil in English Language. She is currently pursuing Ph. D. in ELT from REVA University; Bangalore She has been teaching Optional English, Functional English, General English, Business Communication skills, Literature and ELT for the last 11 years. She is a Cambridge University Certified BEC Higher (Business English Certificate) Trainer. She is also associated in training students with various Cambridge University Exams like KET, PET, FCE and British Council examinations Like IELTS and TOEFL. She has membership with professional bodies like Cambridge English Teacher(British Council), Cambridge English Language Assessment and Matthew Stock well; Cambridge ESOL. She has presented 12 research papers in National and International conferences on various topics. She had completed Two projects : one on preparing lesson plans with specific objectives for Macro Teaching Practice which is called ELTEM and the other on Editing "A studial approach to writing expository essays" (both reading and writing).She has further translated Hindi Short Stories "Saranaagath" and "Chotta Jadugar" by Jai Shankar Prasad into English rendering.
Ms. Violet McHardy

Ms.Violet McHardy is an Assistant Professor of English in the School of Arts and Humanities, with five years of experience. She holds a Masters Degree in English and her area of specialization includes American Literature and English Language Teaching. She has varied interests and is a voracious reader of English Language & Grammar, English Literature, Common Wealth and American Literature, Linguistics, Psychology, History, Poetry and Prose, Literary Theories and Criticism, Journalism, Gender Studies, Additional English, General English. She has published various articles in reputed journals and presented papers at National and International Conferences. She is currently involved in a translation project, that revolves around Hindi feminist writings. Besides Reva University, she has previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Garden City College. She has a keen eye for language and creativity, and has trained students on Creative Writing Skills, creating modules and conducted two sessions of a short-term course on Basics of Creative Writing. She was on the editorial board of the ISSN journal, Luminaire, an annual Refereed journal of the Dept. of Languages, Garden City College, as well as the monthly magazine GCC World and journal GCC Élan. She has been an integral part of organizing and conducting Seminars for the Department of Languages. She has also been a part of a translation project, namely short stories of RajendraYadav. She even prepared Study Material for BA III Year for the Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education, Bangalore University. In her formative years, she has worked as an English Lecturer at Jamshedpur Women's College, where she trained students in Language and Soft skills as well as Literature. An ardent enthusiast of Classical British Literature, and Indian feminist writings she Ms.Violet is a collector of old books and an avid blogger. Currently she is pursuing a PhD degree from Reva University.
