3rd International Yoga Day – 2017 at REVA University

REVA University celebrated ‘3rdInternational Yoga Day’ in Rukmini Knowledge Park on 21st June 2017.The staff and students, 39 Karnataka battalion NCC Cadets of REVA University and other institution cadets, Local Public and People from various other organization gathered early morning braving the wet drizzle and joyfully participated in the program.

REVA University had organized "YOGA and wellness camp” from 23rd May to 21st June 2017, as a part of the initiative. Staff, students and the public was a part of the month long initiative and practicedin the Mornings (5.30AM to 7.00AM) &Evening (5.30pm to 6.30 pm) in REVA University campus. Faculty and public participated in this camp. On the last day of the camp 21stJune, that is onInternational Yoga Day a more than 5 thousandparticipants consisting staff, students, NCC Cadets of REVA University and other institution, Local Public and People from various other organization gathered at REVA University open air theater and celebrated 3rd International Yoga Day by practicing Yoga for an hour.

Chief Guest of the day Dr.K.RaghavendraPai, Secretary, Sri Vedavyasa Yoga Foundation, graced the occasion. Dr. K. RaghavendraPai has conducted more than 2500 Yoga workshops, Camps in India and Abroad, awards received by him are Yoga Vidyabhushana'. Russia Yoga Guru', ...He received Doctorate from Hampi Kannada University for his work on 'DasaSahithyaHaagu Yoga Darshana. He in his speech emphasized that one should start practicing yoga from young age which will benefit the youth in terms of healthy mind and body which leads to success in academics and professional growth. Dr. Shyama Raju, Chancellor of REVA University in his presidential address reiterated that by regular practice of Yoga and appropriate diet the mind and body could be controlled and disciplined which in turn enables focused goalsand achievements.
