The Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the earliest to start among the core branches of engineering. The structure of the program has undergone a face-lift with the introduction of subjects from Computer Science and Electronics Engineering streams the program in its curriculum also has Mathematics, Electronics, Computing Techniques and Physics to solve real world problems. Students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have the flexibility to broaden their horizons in electronics or software related industries apart from the core area. For example, Signal Processing and Communication Theory related to Mobile Technology needs Signal Processing, Robotics require control theory as well as programming skills and integrated circuits need VLSI techniques. Thus, the B Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering stream provide several options.

  • Power Sector – to understand the various schemes introduced by the Central Govt. & State Govt. for improving the distribution system, to design robust power system, to estimate transmission & distribution loss, to optimize the location of reactive power compensation to strengthen the distribution system, to implement measures to keep the system secure, to enhance the operational performance of electric power generation, transmission & distribution equipments, to maintain quality of power, to mitigate harmonics, to damp oscillations,
  • Renewable Energy Sources - to harness power from RES using power electronics devices, to solve the issues related to integration of RES with grid, to develop and use various algorithms for enhanced power generation by RES, to enhance the capability of O&M of RES, to study integration of these RES with the grid, etc.
  • Computer – developing algorithms to solve complex functions, developing simulation tools to simulate the entire system, applications to SMART grid, operation and maintenance of micro-grids and smart grids, implementation of SCADA system for electric distribution system, etc.

Eligibility

B. Tech. (Regular) :
  • Pass in PUC / 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics / Technical Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together, of any Board recognized by the respective State Governments / Central Government / Union Territories or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to.
  • Good score in REVA University Engineering Entrance Test (REVA EET ) or CET / COMED-K or any other equivalent examination conducted by recognized Institute / Agency. (for lateral entry and for more details log on to University website www.reva.edu.in
