Dr. Rajashekar P. Mandi, Director, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, REVA University, holds Doctorate from NITK, Surathkal in the area of "Power and Energy" and holds M. Tech. degree with 3rd Rank in "Energy Systems Engineering" from BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering & Technology, Hubli of Visveswaraiah Technology University (VTU), Belgaum. He also obtained Master of Computer Application (MCA) degree from IGNOU, New Delhi. He is a certified energy auditor from Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of India. He has three years of teaching experience. Prior to venturing into the field of academia, he had worked in Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), a premier research institute under the Ministry of Power (MoP), Govt. of India, for more than 26 years in the area of Power system simulation, Power distribution system strengthening, Power quality audit in process industries & electrical distribution system, Electrical Safety audit in process industries, Energy conservation, Energy audit in thermal & hydro power plants (more than 120 power plants), process industries, institutions & buildings, Power system, Renewable energy systems, testing of Lighting equipments and solar PV systems.

He had undergone the training on testing of LED lighting systems as per LM, IEC & BIS standards using highly sophisticated integrating sphere at M/s. Labsphere Inc. North Sutton, Boston, USA during Jan. 2012. He had got training in upgrading the technical ability for photometry testing institution for India during 3-7th Feb. 2014 at Osaka, Japan organized by Overseas Human Resources & Industry Development Association (HIDA), Japan Govt. and also visited all the photometry testing laboratories during that visit. Again he had got training in testing of lighting systems using fully automated Goniophotometer for the lamp size of upto 4 ft. length at M/s. UL Verification Services Inc. Newton, Iowa, USA during Nov. 2014.

He is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) task force committee for Power and Infrastructure in Karnataka. He is a professional member of IEEE. He is presently chairman of Society for Energy Efficiency & Manager (SEEM) Karnataka Chapter. He was member of several BIS committees for making the BIS standards in the area of electric lamps, electrical fans, solar PV, Batteries, electrical appliances, etc. He was also a member of fixing of star label for LED lamps and electrical appliances for Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of India. He worked as nodal officer in Accelerated Power Development & Reforms Programme (APDRP).

He had delivered more than 150 specialized expert lectures at various organizations like CPRI, Bangalore, PMC, NTPC, Noida, NPTI, Faridabad, NTPC, Unchahar, NTPC, Rihand, Reliance Power, Dahanu, NHDC, Omkareswar, PSTI, Bangalore, NPC, Bangalore, Reliance Power, Mumbai, PGCIL, Bangalore, PGCIL, Nagpur, NITK, Surathkal, NIT, Trichy, IIT, Powai, Institution of Engineers (I), Mysore, BESCOM, KPTCL, BEE sponsored 3L programmes, DRUM programmes conducted at CPRI and other Engineering colleges.

His research interests include smart grid, microgrid, LVDC, hybrid power system, renewable energy systems, energy conservation, strengthening of electrical distribution systems, electrical safety, power quality, LED lighting systems, etc. Presently he is guiding 8 PhD research scholars, guided 15 MTech. Projects and 15 BTech. Projects. He had written 3 book chapters on energy conservation in Thermal Power plants and 2 book chapters in distributed power generation. He had published more than 141 technical papers in International & Indian Journals, Conferences & Seminars in the field of energy conservation, power quality, LED lighting system and renewable energy systems.

Dr. B.P. Divakar completed B.E in Electrical and M.E. in Power System in 1988 and 1992 respectively. He completed his Ph.D from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1998 in Power Electronics. From 1998 -2009 he served as research associate, research fellow, Lecturer at the Electrical Department of the same university. He has two US patents and won a meritorious award for a team project from the University. He joined RITM in 2009 as senior professor and became the Dean of Research at REVA University in 2013. He has 7 Journal publications including 4 IEEE journals and over 40 international conferences. He is a recipient of Best Teacher award from REVA University for his teaching and research contributions. His teaching experience includes, teaching subjects like Switched mode Power Conversion, Power Electronics Applications using ICs, Power Supply Systems, Power Electronics Applications in power system at the post-graduate level Networks Analysis, Engineering Economics and Management, Electrical Machines, High Voltage Engineering, Power System Operation and Control at the undergraduate level. He has guiding 6 research scholars in wide range of topics such as Multilevel inverter, Battery management system, Power factor controlling technique, rapid prototyping, Sensor less speed control, ultra-capacitor applications in electric vehicle, integrated charging technique for EVs and contingency analysis for power evacuation. He is the chair of REVA Innovation Club which is established to encourage and nurture multidisciplinary projects mentored by faculty across various disciplines.

Dr. P.S. Venkataramu started his career as an Electrical Engineer in Goa Electricity Department and worked in various capacities for 15 years. During this period he was involved in many power projects from conception stage to commissioning stage. Driven by the passion towards Teaching; he became an Engineering Teacher and worked in various capacities from Assistant Professor to Dean At V.I.T. University, Vellore for 10 years. During this period he was responsible in designing and implementing quality academic process and leading the University to various accreditations.

His passion to build and nurture a new engineering Institute drove him to Bhopal as a Founder Principal of Gyan Gnaga Institute of Technology & Management. He served there for 8 years and established one of the best Engineering Institute in that region. His journey of 15 years in Industry as an engineer and 18 years as an engineering Teacher and an academic Administrator enabled him to be a competent person to deliver the following:

Prof. Gopinath obtained his master’s degree in Power & Energy Systems and is presently pursuing his Doctoral studies at VTU. He has a teaching and industrial experience of sixteen years during which he has taught subjects like Computer Techniques in Power System Analysis, Modern Control Theory, HVDC Transmission, Electric Circuits and Control Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research fields include Plug – in Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Power Electronics. He has published five research papers. Prof. Gopinath is also the examination coordinator at the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Prof. Sagar B. S obtained his master’s degree in Power Electronics from REVA University, Bangalore. He has a teaching and industrial experience of three and a half years during which he has taught subjects like Electric Vehicles, Linear Integrated Circuits, Analog Electronics Circuits, Microcontrollers and Applications at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research fields include Battery Management System and Electric Vehicles. He has published four research papers. He served as Research Assistant, participated in robotics competition from IIT-B under e-Yantra project and secured first class at national level. Prof. Sagar is a recipient of Best Teacher Award from REVA University.

Prof. Doddabasappa obtained his master’s degree in Computer Application in Industrial Drives from MSRIT, Bangalore. He has a teaching and industrial experience of three and a half years during which he has taught subjects like Electrical Power Generation, High Voltage Engineering, Basic Electrical Engineering, and Control Systems and Digital Electronics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research fields include Wind Power Plants and Induction Generators. He has published two research papers. Prof. Doddabasappa has also been designated as Program Head for Skill Development Center under UIIC (University Industry Interaction Center) and is a member of Core Cat REVA University

Prof. Bhushith acquired his Master’s degree in Energy Systems & Management from SJCE, Mysore and his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from VVCE, Mysore. He has a teaching experience of six months during which he has taught subjects like Power System Planning, Electric Circuit Theory and Basic Electrical Engineering at undergraduate level. His domains of research include Solar Photovoltaics (Conventional PV, LCPV & HCPV), Aerodynamics, Solar Powered UAVs and Perpetual Energy Technology. He has published one research paper on Hybrid Power Generation. Prof. Bhushith is a life time member of Indian Buildings Congress (IBC), Delhi and worked as Industrial Trainee at Aircraft Research & Design Centre, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore. He has also delivered two invited lectures on Renewable Energy Science and Solar Powered Aircrafts.

He has a teaching and industrial experience of one and a half years during which he has taught subjects like Electric Circuit Theory, Smart Grids, Analog Electronic Circuit Design and Basic Electrical Engineering at undergraduate level and has worked as Electrical Engineer at Dunlop Polymers. His research fields include DC – DC Converters, Multilevel Inverter, Resonant Converter and drives. He had also completed his internship at JK Tyres, Mysore. Prof. Pavan is a proactive researcher at REVA Research & Innovation Club.
