How REVA University Is Transforming Management Education

Jack Welch, the former head of GE had once said, “When the rate of change outside exceeds the rate of change inside, the end is in sight.” In its distinct approach to re-define management education, REVA University is committed to develop global business leaders who are ready to outpace the rate of change outside with the transformation inside. This inner transformation is brought by exposing students to a unique experiential learning model where learning by doing is the bottom line.

Need Based Course Curriculum : Successful education depends upon a strong foundation of its course design. The course curriculum at REVA University has been carefully designed in consultation with industry experts based on specific learning outcomes for each module. It has been thoughtfully worked out making it more relevant to the needs of the Industry.

Student Clubs : Usually in MBA programs the focus is primarily on improving domain knowledge of the students. In the process of doing so, sometimes their overall development gets neglected. At REVA, we have several student driven platforms to facilitate overall development of managers-in-making through experiential learning. We call them leadership laboratories where students get opportunity to hone their managerial skills and talents. Every club is assigned a faculty mentor and has to submit a detail of planned activities and events to be held throughout the year with budget plan.

At REVA Your Best Friend is Your Faculty Mentor : Usually in MBA programs there is no engagement with the admitted students and faculty beyond regular teaching. However at REVA we believe that much of the learning happens out of the classroom as well. To facilitate this role of faculty is of paramount importance. When students join an MBA program they are unclear about various facets of management career due to lack of knowledge and exposure. As a result, they remain apprehensive and slightly confused about the future. Also, hectic schedule of management education poses greater difficulty in gaining clarity on all this once the course begins. With growing demands of life at campus, new students soon start feeling under tremendous pressure to cope with change. In view of this, REVA has introduced a Faculty Mentor Program where any student can choose a faculty to become his mentor in a given semester. The faculty mentor guides the student to identify his true potential by clearing doubts and firming up their thoughts of making a lucrative career in business management. In the process students are trained mentally and physically for bringing them at a common level of knowledge and understanding.
