This program provides an ability to identify and solve significant problems across a broad range of application areas, to develop the aptitude to apply the principles of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics to articulate an in depth understanding of core knowledge on various subjects of Physical Sciences. It is designed to help students understand the importance of chemicals, chemical industries and the role of these in improving the quality of human life. It also helps students recognize and appreciate the contribution of great scientists in the field of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The programme acts as a foundation degree and helps to develop critical, analytical and problem solving skills at first level. The foundation degree makes the graduates employable in scientific organisations and also to assume administrative positions in various types of organisations. Further acquisition of higher level degrees help the graduates to pursue a career in academics or scientific organisations as a researcher.

The Programme Educational Objectives are to prepare the students to:

  • Work alongside engineering, medical, ICT professionals and scientists to assist them in scientific problem solving
  • Act as administrators in public, private and government organisations or business administrator with further training and education
  • Pursue masters and doctoral research degrees to work in colleges, universities as professors or as scientists in research establishments

  • Derive simple mathematical relations for physical systems based on laws of Physics, solve and interpret the results

  • Use appropriate tools and techniques for solving simple physical sciences’ problems
  • Conduct experiments as per the procedures, tabulate data and interpret results

Eligibility Criteria

Passing in PUC /10+2 with Mathematics as compulsory subject. Scoring at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) from any recognized Board /Council or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to.
