Course Overview

Architecture is characterized by a symbiosis between creativity and technology. The vibrant, dynamic and all-encompassing nature of Architecture and other arts implies that the teaching-learning process in this area is very different from other domains of education. There are multidisciplinary challenges which influence architecture like Art, Technology, Environment, Society, Aesthetics and many more. Architecture is always dynamic. Hence the B.Arch. Program should be designed keeping in view the current situation and possible future developments at global level. The Scheme of instructions and curriculum should be designed to meet the standards by eminent architects, well qualified academicians with different specializations. The architecture course intends to teach students the conceptualization of designs, socio-economic influence and need of the hour skills. The program aims to improve student’s aesthetic judgments and facilitate with exposure to a wide range of techniques and offers wide range of learning methods. The students choosing B.Arch. program will enjoy their learning, update themselves in the required skills. The student-centered teaching learning ambience, hands-on experience helps to develop their personality to become successful professionals.

The program is under CBCS and CAGP system where students will have the opportunity to choose the subjects of their interest from wide era of subjects as soft core study and open elective. The personal and professional interests in architecture are matched by our faculty discipline-leading research, providing manifestation of contemporary issues throughout the degree. Our well qualified, experienced and committed faculty will guide, monitor progress and make architecture study interesting and fruitful. Exciting opportunities will be available for students to expand studio experience, participate in design and build projects and leverage the knowledge and skills of proficient teachers. The facilities for curricular and co-curricular activities in REVA with dedicated supportive faculty provide conducive ambiance for learning. The team of faculty members continually upgrade their knowledge base and course delivery techniques through Faculty development programs and by publishing and presenting their research at National and International conferences.

Architects must also be aware of the social context in which their designs are created, interpreted and understood. Teaching to students at REVA is not limited to architectural practice, instead induces to be responsive and adaptive thinkers who can produce designs that meet clients’ needs as well as cater to larger environmental concerns. Campus Planning - Sixth semester Studio -

This studio seeks to explore contour planning,climate responsive and environmental aspects for designing a medium sized engineering campus in Chikmagalur, Karnataka. highlighting on the response to ecological factors, vehicular and pedestrian movement and scope for future expansion. As campus life is a unique place for experiencing their journey to adulthood in terms of social interaction from private to public activities. The design ideology were to acquire knowledge on building and space character, spatial organization and circulation, space requirement analysis, material and color analysis, site analysis, and analysis of inner space elements and outer space elements.

Architects have varied opportunities to carry out their carrier. After completion of the course, they may proceed with private consultancy on their own, or may be freelance architect with assignments from private & public enterprises. As an academician or Employment in Public and Private sector or non-Government organizations, Archaeology, Transportation sectors like Railways, Airports, National Institute of Urban Affairs, Director of Urban Land transport.

Pass in PUC/10+2 / Pre-University Course or equivalent with minimum 50% in PCM scores and also 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
10+2,Diploma with Mathematics having minimum 50% aggregate marks.
OR
International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with PCM &having not less than 50% of marks in aggregate .
Student should have passed the National Aptitude Test in Architecture [NATA] conducted by Council of Architecture.

JEE part 2 is considered equivalent to NATA.
