M.Tech. Digital Communication and Networking

Eligibility Criteria

BE/B.Tech. in ECE /TE /EEE /CSE /ISE / Instrumentation Technology / Medical Electronics/M.Sc. in Electronics with a minimum of 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) marks in aggregate of any recognized University/Institution or AMIE or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.

Overview

The programme is intended to meet industry demands in the field of wireless and computer communications, and to present recent advancements in Communications, Networking, Artificial Intelligence, and Multidisciplinary subjects. The programme additionally embraces progress in cyber security, the Internet of Things, and cloud platforms with related ideas and algorithms. The programme details the concepts of computer and wireless network technology along with the principles that influence them to perform better. The techniques that enable high-speed Local Area Networks (LANs) and the protocols utilized in wireless LANs will be discussed elaborately. The programme deliberates at large, the recent technological advancements in the field of wireless and mobile networks. The fundamentals of AI, cloud and edge computing with appropriate outcomes that are in demand are also included in the programme curriculum. The candidates will have good research exposure to the courses involved in the programme. Project work with research publications would inculcate the self-learning ability of the candidates, which makes them capable of industry and future research. Digital communication and networking concentrate on giving a sound theoretical background and additionally a great functional presentation to candidates in the communication and networking territories. It is intended to give a modern, industry-oriented education in communication applications. The course aims at producing trained experts who can effectively meet the demands of the quickly developing wireless and networking industry.

Practical exposure to these ideas steers graduates towards exploring career alternatives as telecom engineers in mobile communication, satellite communication, the complexity of Radio Frequency (RF), network security and IP telephony, optical and wired data communication systems. Digital Communication and Networking (DCN) is the future and promises better prospects in various fields. On successful completion of the programme, the graduates of M. Tech (Digital Communication and Networking) programme will be able to:

PO 1

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of specific discipline or professional area, including wider and global perspective, with an ability to discriminate, evaluate, analyze and synthesize existing and new knowledge, and integration of the same for enhancement of knowledge.

PO 2

Analyze complex engineering problems critically, apply independent judgment for synthesizing information to make intellectual and/or creative advances for conducting research in a wider theoretical, practical and policy context.

PO 3

  • PSO3 -Review scholarly work by referring journals, define a new problem, design, model, analyze and evaluate the solution and report as a dissertation in the area of Communication and Networking.
