Masters in Environmental Architecture (M.Arch) with specialization in Building engineering Performance

School of Architecture, REVA University proposes to launch a 2-year Masters degree Program in Environmental Architecture from July 2021 with accreditation from COA, New Delhi. This course comprises of four semesters including one semester of industry internship module which allows the students to gin industry exposure. A total of 80 credits are required for the completion of the M.Arch degree program.

The Masters in Environmental Architecture programme aims to equip graduates with knowledge of latest technologies in the design of sustainable built environment. Graduates develop an expertise in proposing and executing diverse design solutions to address ecological challenges facing our planet.
The USP of the programme is the additional specialization in Building energy performance where students are exposed to state of the art tools and techniques for evaluation of Energy performance in buildings, sustainable materials technologies, green building codes and energy efficient buildings services. Hands-on Modules on building energy simulations and energy efficiency assessment are inbuilt into the programme curriculum to enable graduates to take on real world challenges in the field of Environmental architecture.
 
A widening skills gap across industry means the demand for skilled professionals in energy efficient and sustainable building practices is on the rise. In response to this industry demand, this Master's degree will provide students with the essential skills and theory to design, develop and implement solutions for new and retrofitted buildings and sustainable built environment.

The Masters degree in Environmental architecture will prepare young professionals to navigate the complex and rapidly changing world of sustainability policies and practices in the design and construction industry. They will get hands on experience in sustainability assessment tools and software used in design and planning of the built environment. Courses included in the programme will enhance the abilities to professionally communicate complex sustainability strategies and engage effectively within interdisciplinary teams to drive project outcomes and improve sustainability practice. Students will graduate with specialist knowledge of sustainable building design and technologies.

With additional training in teaching, there is opportunity to be teachers at undergraduate and postgraduate level in this field. Green building professionals can improve their credibility by getting accredited as Master Trainers with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) or Building energy efficiency specialist.

  • 50% and above in Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (from any University / Institutions in India or Abroad or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India)
