The program is designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of Computer Applications. The MCA program is inclined more toward application development and thus has more emphasis on the latest programming languages and tools to develop better and faster applications. It covers various aspects of computational theory, network and database management, mobile technologies, electronics, mathematics, probability, statistics etc. The program also deals with operation research, user interface design, M-commerce, e-commerce, internet of things, mobile computing, software testing and quality assurance, big data analytics, and many such areas intended to meet IT industry requirements.

The aim of the program is to produce postgraduates with advanced knowledge and understanding of Computer Science and Applications; higher-order critical, analytical, problem-solving and transferable skills; ability to think rigorously and independently to meet higher-level expectations of ICT industry, academics, research establishments or take up the entrepreneurial route.

The Program Educational Objectives are to prepare the students to:

  • Be software engineers who can design, code, test and implement computer programs

Eligibility Criteria
  • MCA (Regular): Bachelors Degree of three years with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science Programming / Computer Application / Business Mathematics/Business Statistics as one of the major/optional subjects with minimum of 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) marks in aggregate from any recognized university/institution or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to.

Course Duration: 6 Semesters (3 Years)

  • MCA (Lateral Entry): Candidates who have completed Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration with at least 50% (45% in case of ST/ST category) of marks in BCA or B Sc ( IT / Computer Science) with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or at graduate level are directly admitted to the 3rd semester (2nd year) of the 6-semester MCA program.
