Description: School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, “Dots & Pixels” Club has successfully organized a webinar on “Digital Video Coding for Next Generation Multimedia” on 02 November, 2020. Participants attended the webinar were final year students from the School of ECE and others in the presence of faculty coordinator Prof.Anitha Kumari.R.D and Professors of ECE
The resource person was Mrs. Shreyanka Subbarayappa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. Having more than 59 participants including students and ECE Faculties of REVA University actively attended the session.
The event began at 6:00 PM where all the participants were asked to login portal prior to the event and being conducted on MS Teams. The duration of the event was one hour and the participants were highly enthusiastic about this event. The event ended with discussion of doubts with the students and positive feedback from professors and students.
The key highlights were:
1. A brief introduction to Compression
2. Concept of image and video Compression.
3. Methods of Image and Video compression.
4. Introduced various open source software of an video codecs..
6. Carrier as a Video codec designer.
We would like to thank our beloved Chancellor, Dr. P. Shyama Raju sir for providing all facilities and support to conduct this programme. Respected Vice Chancellor Dr. K. M. Babu, Registrar Dr M.Dhanamjaya for their motivation, help and support to conduct this webinar. We also thank our Director, School of ECE, Dr. R C. Biradar, and Assistant Director Dr. K M Sudarshan for their constant support and always motivating us to organize such events in School of ECE. An extended thank you to our Team Lead Prof. Natraj Urs (Team-4), Year wise coordinator Prof. Anilkumar.V and our resource person Mrs. Shreyanka Subbarayappa without whom the event wouldn’t have been a great success.
