Office of Student Affairs, REVA University organized AAVESHAM-ONAM Celebration it is a vibrant and significant festival primarily celebrated in Kerala, India. It marks the homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali, who is believed to visit his subjects once a year. This event was celebrated with students & teachers, the occasion was made more special and memorable by including students from all over India and gave them a chance to immerse themselves in the spirit of Onam. The space was decorated with traditional decorations such as Pooklam (colorful patterns made with flowers), garlands, photobooths and marigold flowers.
The students and teachers were encouraged to dress in traditional Indian attire. This included sarees, kurta-pajamas, or any attire that represents the diversity of Indian culture.
The event started at 10AM, with traditional fun Onam games session which ended with a fun final match of Vadamvali (Tug of war).The game session was followed by a Cultural immersion, this event featured a series of cultural performances inaugurated by Dr.Beena G, Controller of Examination, REVA University and Dr. Bhavana B, Director, School of Civil Engineering by Lighting the lamp that captured the festive spirit followed by the performances included dances, music bands, and other traditional or contemporary cultural showcases.
