An invited talk from the alumni was organized by the School of Management Studies on Saturday, the 29th of September from 11.00AM to 12.45PM. The session was arranged for the third Semester MBA Students.

Mr. Shabeer Ali, Manager, Northern Trust; Mr. Bhanutej C, Associate Manager-Human Resources, Novo Nordisk Services Private India Limited; and Mr. Raj Kumar Maskalle, Assistant Manager- Talent Acquisition, Myntra were the speakers of the day

Mr. Shabeer Ali, having passed out from REVA with a specialization in Finance, has been exceptionally good throughout his stay in REVA. He is being associated with Northern Trust and has worked in different domains in the field of Finance. Shabber began his career as an analyst in client valuation reporting and now is working in the capacity of Section Manager for NA Accounting Team. He oversees a team of 50 professionals in Bangalore division. With his exceptional contribution to the organisation, he has won several awards and accolades.

Mr. Raj Kumar Maskalle, having passed out from REVA with a specialization in Marketing, has been his creative best through his student days. Presently working with Myntra as Assistant Manager, Talent Acquisition, he has garnered varied experience in his tenure of about 7 years. He started his career with Career Net where he handled recruitment process, profile screening, sourcing, to name a few. Presently working for Myntra, he works on varied HR operations related to recruitment.

Mr. Bhanutej C, having passed out from REVA with a specialization in HR has always been passionate towards people management. Presently working with Novo Nordisk as Associate Manager – Human Resources, is into training the employees in varied fields. Being passionate towards people management, has successfully guided and trained employees in delivering their best at work.

The session was organized for the third semester MBA students. The session on “Being Industry Ready”, was designed to give the inputs for the students related to the preparedness that they are supposed to equip themselves with for being placed in the reputed organisation.

The students were divided into different groups based on their specialization and the alumni addressed them on various aspects related to being industry ready. The students were advised by the alumni to be informed about the developments which are happening in their chosen areas. They were told to be updated with the latest events and latest technology developments which enable them to prepare themselves well in advance. The students were advised by their seniors to prepare themselves with various basic skill sets like Excel, familiarity with outlook and other such things which gives them a upper hand when compared to others. Mr. Raj stressed upon the students that they be keen observers and innovative and creative in their approach which gives them an advantage over everybody else. Mr. Bhanu stressed that the students be dedicated and sincere and honest in their approach. While Mr. Ali suggested that the students to be curious towards the changes dynamic business conditions.

In all the students were advised by the alumni about equipping themselves with the required skill sets like excellent communication skills, a total positive attitude, a positive approach towards life, a well groomed and a pleasant personality to name a few.

The session concluded with Director, Dr. Shubha addressing the students about the importance of such programmes and how the students should take key inputs from their seniors. She also thanked the alumni for their time and interest towards guiding their juniors.
