REVA University's School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with the REVA University Alumni Association, organized an insightful talk titled "Personal Development and Getting Ready for a Career in IT" on 16th June 2023. The event was specifically designed for the 6th-semester students of the School of EEE. The talk featured Mr. Lenin Ponnappa, an esteemed alumnus of the university, who currently serves as an "Inside Product Specialist" at Commvault, Bengaluru. Mr. Ponnappa's impressive professional journey and his active involvement in various activities during his college days made him an ideal resource person for this event. 

The talk covered essential aspects of personal development and career preparation in the IT industry. Mr. Lenin emphasized the significance of self-branding, time management, and career planning. Students gained valuable insights on resume writing, creating a strong introduction during interviews, building professional networks, and the importance of internships and workshops. Moreover, Mr. Lenin shared practical tips for attending interviews, including the importance of punctuality, dressing professionally, and researching the company beforehand. The interactive session provided students with a platform to clarify their doubts and gain valuable insights from an experienced industry professional. 

The event witnessed active participation from 124 students, who found the session to be highly informative and enlightening. They learned about self-branding, the importance of confidence, and various time management techniques such as the Eisenhower Matrix, Parkinson's Law, Pomodoro Technique, and the Pickle Jar Theory. The talk also provided valuable guidance on career planning, helping students identify their strengths and weaknesses and understand the significance of internships and workshops in their professional growth. The session left the students feeling motivated and equipped with practical knowledge to enhance their career prospects in the IT industry. 

The School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with the REVA University Alumni Association, deserves commendation for organizing such an impactful event.
