School of Architecture, REVA University has been setting towering standards with its innovative pedagogy and dynamic curriculum ever since its inception. In light of these extraordinary circumstances, we are immensely proud to have conducted Architectural Design Thesis jury for final semester students seamlessly online, which made it one of the very few institutes all across to country to have adapted so swiftly to this sudden requisition. The final review was scheduled for 12th and 13th June, 2020. Two parallel sets of virtual reviews were conducted simultaneously over Microsoft Teams application. As recommended by the Council of Architecture, the students projected thesis presentations from the safety of their remote locations, while the external jury members, internal examiners and guides evaluated them from the campus. This was a unique practice in itself as the present situation called for unparalleled measures. The students showcased excellent demeanour and ensured we made a smooth transition from offline to online design process.
Distinguished practising architects from Bengaluru, Ar. Sudesh Menon, Ar. Chandrakant Kanthigavi and Ar. Rajkumar presided over the sessions at the campus, spread through two electrifying days. Despite several obstacles and hurdles along the way, our students and faculty members exhibited outstanding grit and competence and made this peculiar journey into a phenomenal experience to be truly inspired from in the years to come. We are grateful to our Honourable Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and management at REVA University for their persistent support and guidance throughout. A special token of appreciation for the former Director of RUSOA, Dr. Vimala Swamy for admirably grooming our first batch of bright new architects throughout her tenure and making this whole experience noteworthy. We wish them all the luck for all their future endeavours and shall cherish them as an eminent part of Team RUSOA!
