“Automotive Electronics” In Collaboration With Spark Minda Knowledge Transfer Activitiy (17.10.2022)
School of ECE, REVA University and SPARK MINDA jointly working on cyber security problems, challenges and solutions in automotive systems. In this regard, identified industry mentored projects linked cybersecurity in automotive systems.
As part of the project SPARK MINDA provided customized Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and CANP devices to school of ECE, COE lab. The electronic engine control unit (ECU) is the central controller and heart of the engine management system. It controls the fuel supply, air management, fuel injection and ignition. CAN is a multi-master serial bus standard for connecting electronic control units (ECUs) also known as nodes (automotive electronics is a major application domain). Two or more nodes are required on the CAN network to communicate.
On October 17, 2022, Ms. Praachi Shah (Senior Hardware Engineer, SMIT Pune) visited our lab to demonstrate the functionality of devices to the research scholars and faculty. Discussions included issues with relay attacks, advancements in RF and LF communications, and challenges with BL and NFC security. The research scholars of UG and PG learned about secured communication in automotive systems.
