The team Jagruti from REVA University organized an awareness campaign on waste segregation at Nagashettalli and Manjunath Layout, Bengaluru on 14-01-2020. The campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Randeep, Special Commissioner, BBMP who also addressed the volunteers on the importance of saving mother earth for our future and how youth can bring about a change in the society by awareness activities. The corporator of ward 18, Mr. Anand also addressed the volunteers on how essential it is to create awareness on saying no to plastics. He also appreciated the initiative taken up by the University and the enthusiasm students show towards organizing such campaigns. The health inspector, assistant engineers of ward 18 and Mr. Vignan Gowda, social worker were also the part of the inauguration. The campaign was door to door, where the volunteers educated the people on waste segregation methods and stressed on the importance of switching towards the usage of eco-friendly things in day to day life. The volunteers visited 1500 households in and around Nagashettalli and Manjunath Layout and distributed jute bags saying no to plastics.
