School Of Allied Health Sciences in association with REVA Health Centre & 'UNNATHI Women's Foundation" organized a Health Talk titled "Awareness on Most Prevalent Cancers in Women" on 19/09/19 at Library Seminar Hall, REVA University. The resource person was Dr Rashmi N, Associate Consultant, Gynaec Oncology, Cytecare cancer Hospitals.
There were around 220 women students and faculty members across both engineering and non-engineering streams of the university in the audience. Dr Rashmi explained about the 5 most prevalent cancers in women being Lung, breast, cervical, oral, and colon cancer. She taught how exactly the self-breast examination can be done. A lot of myths about Cancer were discussed and the reality was explained. She ended by telling that Cancer is a disease that breaks rules.
