REVA School of Architecture has conducted workshop on Basic Construction Techniques (Miniature Arches) under the Skill Development Course, as per the academic curriculum. The workshop enhances the skill and technique of construction of arches with a clear understanding of forces and loads. On the first day the students were trained to prepare the quarter inch size cement blocks, keystones in 1:3 ratio, on the second day the students were made to prepare the form work of arches designed by them by using thermocol, fevicol, binding wire, mount board sheets, nails, plywood and cement slurry. The arches were constructed under the supervision of Ar.K.jayaram and Ar. Raghuteja Vemana and on the third day the arches were given a fine finish and pointing was done to give a better output.
