IRRC, REVA University in association with School of Applied Sciences, Dept. of Mathematics organized a Seminar on “Career Opportunities in the Field of Mathematics” on 16th Mar, 2023 at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Seminar Hall.​

Dr. Jamie Alcock, Professor of Mathematics and Finance at the University of Birmingham and leads the Financial Mathematics programme.​

He has previously held senior positions at the University of Oxford, The University of Sydney, The University of Cambridge, and at his alma mater The University of Queensland, Australia.​

Jamie's research explores the pricing and management of convexity in finance and real estate, with a particular interest in convex dependence structures.​

His discussion in the seminar focused on topics like Finance, Quantitative Finance, Futures Markets, Banking and Finance, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis. He also motivated students to build their career in field of Finance overseas.​
