EMERGING TRENDS AND FUTURE PROSPECTS IN CLINICAL RESEARCH

The department of Biotechnology had organized a two-day workshop on “Emerging trends and future prospects in Clinical Research”, in association with CliniIndia. The event was scheduled on 6th and 7th of October 2017 in the Swami Vivekananda Seminar Hall, Science block.

A total of 20 members attended the FDP, which included in-house faculties and faculties from other colleges in Bangalore. The inaugural programme on 6th October, 2017 was presided by Dr. Beena G, Prinicpal, REVA Institute of Science and Management and Mr. Vishal Chaudhari, Head of Operations, CliniIndia, Mr. Dheeraj Awasthi, Sr. Project Manager, Leading CRO.  The inaugural session was followed by a technical talk by Mr. Dheeraj Awasthi on Clinical Trial Design and Project Management. He briefed the working concept of Clinical research industry and the designing of clinical trial of a medicine or a medical device and its implications of the phase IV trials.

Post-lunch, the technical session was taken over by Mr. Vishal Chaudari, who briefed about the overview of the Clinical research industry.

On the second day of the schedule, the technical session continued with a talk on Pharmacovigilance by Dr. Jayanshankar, Associate director, Leading Pharmaceuticals. The concept of post-marketing survellience of a drug was highlighted in the session.
Post-lunch was the valedictory function, which was graced by Dr. S. Y. Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor, Dr. N. Ramesh, Dean, RIST and deligates from CliniIndia. The certificates were distributed to the participants and were concluded by the feedback from participants and vote of thanks.
