Re-Search, a formalized curiosity for betterment, provokes to study past and present scenarios to look further ahead. Knowledge share and gain at all times complement each other to support critical thinking of any individual. REVA University, School of Architecture RE-SEARCH Talk Series 1.0 Programme, engrossed on sensitizing the academia and research towards enhancing research writing skills in Architecture and Urban Planning. The programme has prorated modules of learning from initial step of choosing a topic to publishing paper. The sessions to be completed in five days with distinguished speakers on board. Modules include: a) Topic Selection criteria b) Literature review writing and search engines, c) Review Article writing and plagiarism d) Introduction to Mendeley and Zotero, e) Urban planning paper writing skills and Developing a Questionnaire. The schedule includes a morning and afternoon term of two sessions. The talk series is open to all enthusiastic academia, researchers from various educational institutions and practicing professionals. The FDP is divided in to 5 modules followed below the day wise schedule.
Day 1: The programme was inaugurated by Dr. B.P Divakar, Dean R& I, REVA university had spoken on necessity of research in the current scenario. The session was followed by Dr.Vimala Swamy and Prerana Hazarikha in Identifying a research problem in Architecture/Urban Design / Urban Planning, Topic selection, Formulating Aim and Objectives, Research Questions, Hypothesis. Faculty were advised to choose a topic and formulate the necessary aim and objectives on the same.
Day 2: Dr. Vimala Swamy had lectured on Choosing research articles, Finalization of topic and necessary inputs were given during the session. Ar. Nazish Abid had given a brief introduction on selection of literature review and formulating the review of literatures. The afternoon session was followed by Inhouse faculty presentation and were guided in choosing the literatures.
Day 3: Prof Shubhi Sonal had delivered a lecture on writing a title of the Research paper, Paper Article Format, Abstract or Extended abstract writing techniques followed by Prof. Raghuteja Vemana hadgiven a glimpse on understanding a Citation, Impact factor, H-Index, Choice of Journal and benefits of Mendeley research writing
Day 4: Prof. Anup Kumar Prasad had lectured on Qualitative and Quantitative research techniques by presenting his work.
Day 5: Prof Shubhi Sonal had delivered a lecture on Methodology in research paper writing and methods of structuring the overall paper followed by Presentation techniques by Prof. Anup Kumar Prasad.
Remarks: Faculty had participated with enthusiasm and were consistent in attending the lectures.
