Event: Guest Lecture by Alumnus on Trajectories in understanding North-East Literature

The School of Arts and Humanities organised the guest lecture on “Trajectories in understanding North-East Literature” on 19th August 2020 through online conferencing platform, Microsoft Teams. The resource person for the event was Manngai H. Phom, an alumnus of REVA University (2018-20 MA English student), Bengaluru. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. from Cotton State University, Assam. The lecture was organised for third and fifth semester students of B.A. Journalism and third semester students of M.A. English. 32 students and many faculty attended the lecture. The resource person explained the history and the current status of North-East Indian literature. He detailed the socio-political events that have influenced the North-East Indian literature and its importance. He covered the prominent genres and authors of the literature. The lecture was orderly and informative. The students posed questions at the end of the session. The resource person responded to students’ queries with insightful and clear explanations. The event was coordinated by the School Alumni Coordinator, Dr. Vijayalakshmi R.
