School Of Allied Health Sciences in assosciation with REVA Health Centre organized a guest lecture on "Blood Donation awareness" at Dr H Junjappa Seminar Hall, REVA University on 14/05/19. The lecture was given by Dr Komal Chippalkatti, Oncopathologist, Cytecare Cancer Hospitals, Bangalore. Around 100 faculty members and students were the target audience. She explained about the importance of Blood donation and also gave in depth illustration on the renewal duration of different components present in Blood. Students gained knowledge on a rare Blood group and also on different types of Blood donation ranging from Whole Blood donation to donation of a single blood component. The Do's and Don't's 24 hr prior to blood donation was explained. On a whole It gave a push to many volunteers inclusive of staff & students to come forward and donate blood at Cytecare hospital as all their misconceptions were cleared.
