A Guest lecture by Asso Prof. Anupadma R was organized on 09/10/20 for the students of 3rd semester as a part of Building Services-1 course. The Objective is to understand the function and significance of Storm water management. She briefed about the natural ecosystem associated with quality of life just by managing storm water runoff also elaborated on the storm water drainage conveyance, networking and treatment to avoid unauthorized discharge of wastewater along with storm water...
Outcomes of the Guest Lecture:
• knowledge on innovative green infrastructure solutions such as green roofs, rain garden, bioswales and pavements
• Storm water management techniques which benefits environment like construction of Wetlands and Detention ponds
• Collection and storage of Roof top, surface runoff rainwater harvesting system
• Quantification of Rainwater and flood control method.
• Basement, Podium, Yard and Paved area drainage storm water collection.
This talk gave an insight on the reuse and harvests the rain water for the purposes of drinking washing and watering gardening which can reduce the load of municipal water supply systems in urban areas. Planning and development of retain the city’s water usage by recharging aquifers can replenish the ecological of urban farms and irrigating gardens.
