LABORATORIES, Hal Airport Road, Bangalore on dated 28/08/2019, for the students of 3rd year (5th Sem A Section) consisting of around 62 students. These students were accompanied by Dr.Venkateshappa and Prof. Divya M N. The visit commenced at 10.45 am in the Morning.
Mr.A Somanarayanan In-charge, Visits, KTMD CSIR-NAL, Bangalore addressed the gathering and guided the students with initial presentation of the company and demonstrated the Vision and Mission of the NAL. Students were exposed to knowledge regarding the Aerospace electronics and instrumentation lab, Aero dynamics test center, Wind tunnel Centre, Computerized fatigue test facility to investigating failures and accidents in aerospace
National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), is India's second largest aerospace firm after Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL). It was established by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at Delhi in 1959 and its headquarters was later moved to Bangalore in 1960. The firm closely operates with HAL, DRDO and ISRO and has the prime responsibility of developing civilian aircraft in India. The CSIR-NAL mandate is to develop aerospace technologies with strong science content, design and build small and medium-sized civil aircraft, and support all national aerospace programme.
NAL is a high technology oriented institution concentrating on advanced topics in the aerospace and related disciplines. Originally started as National Aeronautical Laboratory, it was renamed National Aerospace Laboratories to reflect its major involvement in the Indian space programme, its multidisciplinary activities and global positioning. It is India’s only civilian aerospace laboratory with a high level of competence and the expertise of its scientists is globally acknowledged. NAL employs a staff of about 2,500 with about 350 full-fledged R&D professionals.
Mr. Somanarayanan answered all the queries that students had related to the things they had observed at NAL. He also appreciated the initiative taken up by REVA University for introducing such visits for the young minds and nurturing their careers. Hence, the industrial visit to NAL enriched knowledge to both students and faculty in knowing more about Aerospace electronics and instrumentation lab ,Aero dynamics test center, Wind tunnel Centre, Computerized fatigue test facility to investigating failures and accidents in aerospace.
We would like to thank our beloved Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju Sir for providing all facility and support to conduct such Events. We also thank Vice Chancellor Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni Sir, Registrar Dr. M. Dhanamjaya Sir, Dean, Placement, Training, and Planning Dr. N. Ramesh Sir for their constant support in organizing such events. We thank Mr. J. Syam Sundar Sarin, Senior Manager- Corporate Relations, RU, Dr. Mrinal Sarvagya and Prof Anitha Kumari R D for their kind support for organizing the Industrial Visit to NAL and also thank our Year-wise Coordinator(3rd Year) Dr. Seshikala School of ECE for her motivation in organizing the Industrial Visit to NAL, Bengaluru.
