INNOVATIONS IN BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Inaugural Session:
School of Commerce and Management studies organised two days International conference which had more than 300 delegates from all over India and abroad.  

The inaugural ceremony of the International conference on “Innovations in Business Environment: Economic Growth and Sustainable Development” commenced at Kuvempu Auditorium, REVA University. The programme was presided after, Honorable chancellor of REVA University, Dr. P Shyamaraju, chief guest of the day, T. V Rao, Guest of Honor, Dr. Samantha Rathnayake, Vice Chancellor of REVA University, Dr. S Y Kulkarni, Registrar, Dr. M. Dhanamjaya and  Dr. Shubha A, Director of School of Commerce and Management studies. 

Dr. Shubha A. formally welcomed all the dignitaries present on the dais and participants from various parts of the country, colleagues & students. She mentioned about the significance of this conference. 

Prof. T. V Rao, described the importance of innovation and nobility of thoughts. His experiences were appraised by the audience. He motivated everyone to actively participate in the international conference to get benefited. Dr. Samantha Rathnayake also shared his wide knowledge with the gathering. 

In the end, Dr. M Dhanamjaya (Registrar & Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management) offered a vote of thanks. The programme concluded at 11:00 followed by networking break.

Plenary Session 1
Dr. Rathanayake bought out the importance of 3 Cs in one’s vision, the Context, Content and Conduct. He emphasized that one irrespective of whether a corporate or an individual need to have clear focus about what is being done and if that is the best way of doing it. He mentioned about various path breaking management gurus and their famous works and how over a period of time.

Plenary Session 2
Dr. Panda started the session by drawing the attention of the gathering about the need for economic growth in the society. He with the help of facts and figures, gave a clear picture of the Indian Economy. He also bought out the difference between the Indian Economy and that of the other developed economies across the world. 

He concluded the session by bringing the importance of MDGs and SDGs and how the countries could be benefitted by implementing the goals. 

Dr. P Narayan Reddy concluded day one by summarizing the thoughts about innovation and its implementation in India.

Day 2 of International Conference on 24th Jan 2020
The pre-lunch session of second day of the conference witnessed a panel discussion on the topic of Innovations In Business Environment: Economic Growth And Sustainable Development. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Narayna Reddy. Four panelists gave their insight on the topic and shared their knowledge with the gathering. 

The first panellist was Dr. Jacob Crasta who spoke about the prospects of India as a nation and the impact that GST and Demonetization had on the Indian Economy. He said he believes that the problem is cyclical in nature and the economy will bounce back by April 2020. And also he enlighten the importance of youth entrepreneurs with innovative ideology rather being employee.  
The second panellist, Mr Sanjay Shukla echoed a similar point of view. He also stated that the economy will bounce back and even though global outlook on India is low, India will be doing really good in coming months. He also referred to the concept of innovation and how having a winning attitude helps entrepreneurs. 

The panel discussion was interrupted for a short coffee break of 15 minutes after which the third panellist Mr. Nithin Mahadevappa addressed the gathering. Mr Nithin spoke on the advancement of technology and how the emergence of OLA and Zomato has shaped consumer behaviour and thereby impacted the economy.

The final Panelist Mr Raghunandan shared his idea on how education and colleges can impact the economy and role students and universities have in shaping an economy. 

Mr. Narayana Reddy provided a brief summary of the panel discussion after which the panel took questions from the audience the audience asked about the way’s government is supporting entrepreneurship and if there are ways that disruptive innovations can be stopped from causing economic harm.

The session concluded with the Director of School of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. Shubha A, handing over mementos to the panel members as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.

Valedictory:
Valedictory session started with welcoming Valedictory guest Prof. Shyma sunder & Dr. P Narayana reddy Group Director, Sanskrithi Group of Institutions, Puttaparthi, Anantapur by Dr. Meenakshi Verma.   
Dr. Shubha A, Director School of Commerce and Management studies, summarised all the sessions of the conference and also gave a valid insight about theme of the conference.
 
Dr. Harani B, Conference Co-oridinator, proposed a formal vote of thanks.
