Interdisciplinary Seminar on A Goal Programmeming Approach to Large Scale Thermal Power Generation Units

Title: Interdisciplinary Seminar on “A Goal Programmeming Approach to Large Scale Thermal Power Generation Units”
Presenter: Dr. Harish Babu G A, Professor, School of Mathematics, REVA University
Organized By: School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on online Microsoft Teams Platform

School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized and conducted interdisciplinary seminar on “A Goal Programmeming Approach to Large Scale Thermal Power Generation Units” for the faculties of School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The seminar was conducted online on Microsoft Teams platform and delivered by Dr. Harish Babu G A, Professor, School of Mathematics, REVA University.

The session was interactive and faculties of school of EEE benefited in understanding the application of mathematical concepts in electrical engineering. Also an insight to electrical terminologies as mathematical variables was brought out.

Objectives of the session:
1. Introduction to goal programming  approach
2. Identification of constraints of thermal power plant for maximum generation and categorizing it as mathematical variables
3. Mathematical modelling of thermal power plant

Outcomes of the session:
1. Identifying various constraints and creating a suitable mathematical model
2. Goal Programmeing model in solving the identified constraints of Raichur Thermal Power Plant
3. Identification of research areas in electrical and electronics domain that incorporates mathematical modeling and computing
