Interdisciplinary Talk on Data Analytics Opportunities in spite of Pandemic

Title: Interdisciplinary Talk on Data Analytics: Opportunities in spite of Pandemic
Date: 1st June 2020
Description: It is a pleasure to inform all that the TEAM 6: School of ECE has organized “Interdisciplinary Talk (Data Analytics: Opportunities in spite of Pandemic)” on 1st June 2020 between 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Big Data defines the huge volume of data that is growing exponentially. Data analytics includes extracting the useful information from the data by building all possible relations among various data. This makes big data to appear even bigger. The volume of data that’s dubbed Big Data is too much information for a human data analyst.

Machine learning (ML)as a service in data analytics has helped manage big data better. Machine Intelligence is a highly multidisciplinary and active field, combining computer science, robotics and cognitive science, with potentially transformative applications in many areas of science, industry and society.

While ML systems have produced great advances in several domains, their use in support of complex cooperative work remains a research challenge. A particularly challenging setting, and one that may benefit from ML support is the work of multidisciplinary medical teams such as COVID-19.
Some of the Challenges facing currently were highlighted:
1.    Skills and tools of the data analytics.
2.    Application areas.
3.    Research opportunities.
4.    Live demo: Analytics on COVID-19 data.

Prof. Nimrita Koul is a B.Tech. (CSE, Gold medalist) , M.Tech (CSE, Gold medalist) with 15 years of experience in teaching. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Computational Biology and is passionate about socially relevant research using applied statistics and machine learning.
Around 38 Faculty from the School of ECE attended the interdisciplinary talk.
