Title: International Industrial Visit Cum Fun Trip to Singapore on 16th Jan 2019

REVA University strives hard to provide right kind of exposure to its students. The journey of student life must not be restricted to only the class room teaching. Towards this, REVA University initiates and organizes many programmes and also conducts various events.

The year 2019 has a special activity planned for the students of School of Commerce and Management studies. Likewise in previous years, this year students were taken to Singapore to explore the various verticals for their overall growth and development.


Report on Singapore Visit
Place - Singapore

Date of travel -16th Jan 2019 (evening) to 20th Jan 2019 (mid night)

Duration - 4days and 3nights

Total travelers 29 students and 2 faculty members (Total – 31)

Singapore is a global financial center with a tropical climate and multicultural population.

17th Jan 2019 (Day-1)
The journey started on 16th Jan 2019 and the team reached Changi Singapore in the morning of 17th Jan 2019. After completing the immigration formalities and break-fast at Bikarnerwala restaurant , the team was taken to PSB Academy , at Raffles Blvd, Singapore, an institution in the central Singapore for a 2.5 hours interactive session starting from 10:30 – 12:30 pm . Wherein students explored various overseas internship and job possibilities. The session was conducted by Ms. Vaishnavi PSB Academy by representative . Students actively participated in the interactive session and won few prizes for their valuable inputs in the session discussion. A Institute tour was conducted for the team. Later students were taken to a place called “Little India”, wherein they were served Indian food from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. After lunch, the team was directed to Hotel IBIS styles on Macpherson Road, Singapore. The team check-in and took rest for 2 hours. And by 5:00 pm, the team was taken for city tour, followed by dinner.

18th Jan 2019 (day-2)
After continental breakfast at Hotel IBIS styles, the team headed towards Monetary Authority of Singapore (M.A.S), at Shenton Way by 9:30 am. A self guided tour mainly to explore the various innovations in the field of finance.
Later team was headed for lunch to Indian Restaurant at “Little India” After lunch, students were allowed to go for shopping at the nearby areas in “Little India”. By 4:30 pm. In the second half of the day, students were allowed for shopping followed by dinner at night.

19th Jan 2019 (day-3)
The day of fun and frolic started for the students by reaching Universal Studios at 9:30 am. A place for enjoyments and fun for all age group. The team enjoyed various rides and other attractions till evening 7:00 pm. Later they were taken for dinner.

20th Jan 2019 (day-4)
The day started and the team was taken to National Museum of Singapore. Few interested in the field of Finance, were taken for the session of 3 hours and other students were allowed to shop . Students had an opportunity to have lunch with Chancellor of REVA University Dr. P. Shyama Raju sir. Sir spent quality time with team for nearly an hour. Students interacted with sir, and sir in turn shared his Singapore experiences and also suggested few good places to visit.
The team was takne to Aarya Business school for a session by Prof. Arun Natraj and Mr. Palani . The session of 2 hours was well appreciated by students and at the end the question and answers session had a good take-away for the team.

21st Jan 2019 (day-5)
The day started bit late by 7:30 am morning. The students were requested to check-out and put their luggage in luggage counter. Beloved Chancellor sir, came to see off the team. He interacted with students about their experiences for half an hour.
Later the team was taken to their pre-scheduled destination Newater Plant at Kh Sek Lim Rd, Singapore at 12:30 am. The orientation tour of its 4 step of filtrations was explained by Ms. Nandini of Newater plants. Students understood the various ways of preserving water, an important source of life for all living beings.
After lunch at Indian Restaurant, the students were taken to IBIS Styles hotel to take their luggage and were taken to Changi Airport by 3:30 pm. Students were allowed to explore one of the modern airports in the world and were also suggested to have an experience of “Duty Free shopping” The flight from Singapore started at 10:55 pm and the team reached its destination back safely at 11:50 pm. ISD. The journey of 4 hours was enjoyed by students by relaxing and discussing their most memorable moments.
