On the eve of International Mother Language Day, the Government of India declared 21 February, every year as "Matribhasha Diwas". The significance of this day is to promote dissemination of the mother language of all and create maximum awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the country and to inspire solidarity amongst the people speaking many languages. REVA University on account of “Matribhasha Diwas” conducted various activities. School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences together with School of Legal Studies, REVA University celebrated International Mother Language Day in the name of Matribhasha Diwas at the adopted Govt.Higher Primary School, Sonnappanahalli, Bengaluru on 19 February 2021.
A team of eight members from the university visited the adopted school at 11 am on 19 February 2021 and created awareness on the importance of mother language. Prof. Lingappa and Dr. Prasanna addressed the students and highlighted the importance of Kannada as a mother language. Dr. Radha delivered a speech on “Personality Development” and educated the students through witty stories. Prof. Ashitha and Prof.Swati Reddy conducted games, competitions and drawing activities for students. The team interacted with the students and enlightened them about the humanitarian works which are being done by REVA University. Prof.Rajaneesh Kumar HV the Coordiantor, REVA Abhivriddhi organised the event.
