International Webinar on Branding in Digital Media

The Department of Media Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University organized an international webinar on “Branding in Digital Media.” It was conducted on 21st May 2020 through MS Teams online platform.

Ms. Gail Gore, Strategic Communication & Marketing Expert from the USA was the resource person. She started the session by explaining the importance of branding and digital media in the current world. She then moved on to speak about the role digital media plays currently, in the COVID-19 scenario. She stated how organizations are looking into new digital strategies across multiple platforms in order to promote their brands. She later pointed out certain case studies to explain the measures major companies are taking in order to survive in the post-COVID world.
One of her case studies included Mark Zuckerberg’s recent announcement on remote working. She also touched upon McDonalds and their branding by citing an example of their training programme. The examples suggested how tech companies are promoting their brand using digital platforms. Ms. Gore also shared some of her experiences in the media industry and her insights in marketing. The webinar concluded with an interactive question and answer session.
