An industrial visit was conducted for the second-year BBA students (sections B, F, G, and H) of the School of Management Studies on March 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2025, to the Kolar-Chikkaballapura District Co-operative Milk Producers' Societies Union Ltd. (KOMUL). The students were accompanied by faculty members Prof. Dara Vijayalakshmi and Prof. Maria Boaler nearly 140 students visited the Komul Industries.

An industrial visit to Kolar-Chikkaballapura District Co-operative Milk Producers' Societies Union Ltd. (KOMUL) provided an insightful experience into the functioning of a dairy processing unit. KOMUL, one of the leading milk unions in Karnataka, plays a crucial role in dairy production, processing, and distribution.

During the visit, students were able to observe the different phases of milk processing, which encompassed procurement, pasteurization, homogenization, packaging, and quality control. The level of automation and the hygiene standards upheld within the facility were notably remarkable. Furthermore, the experience provided valuable insights into the cooperative model that supports rural dairy farmers and improves their economic well-being.

Interacting with the technical experts at KOMUL helped in understanding the supply chain management, product diversification (such as curd, ghee, and flavoured milk), and quality assurance measures followed by the industry. The visit not only bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application but also inspired students to explore career opportunities in the dairy and food processing sectors.

Overall, the industrial visit to KOMUL was an enriching experience, enhancing students' understanding of dairy technology, cooperative management, and industry operations.
