The REVA University Legal Aid Committee of the School of Legal Studies conducted a Legal Aid Outreach Programme on 11th January 2020 at Kommasandra Village, Devanahalli Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District- 562110. A group of sixty-eight students had conducted a survey and collected data on various issues/ problems that are being faced by the villagers residing in the said village. Also, students created awareness amongst the villagers about the various rights and government schemes that they are entitled to.
Dr. Bharathi S, Director-School of Legal Studies in her speech motivated all the students, which was followed by an induction session by Dr. Nagaraja V, Professor- School of Legal Studies. Dr. Nagaraja briefed the student on how to conduct the survey and spread awareness on various socio-legal issues. Through this outreach programme, students had covered almost 300 houses and procured information on the problems that are being faced by them and provided free legal consultation. It was a great learning experience for the students as they could interact with the villagers and understand the problems that enabled them to provide the necessary legal remedy.
The Legal Aid Outreach Programme was facilitated and guided by Dr. V Nagaraja, Coordinator of Legal Aid Committee, Prof. Raghavendra G, Prof. Pallavi Sen, Dr.Kumara J N, and Prof. Soujanya of School of Legal Studies.
