Learning Objectives:
Pursuing the best specialization can be one of the most rewarding parts of an MBA programme. While the core modules will give the student a solid foundation of knowledge in key areas, a specialization allows the student to explore a particular business sector in much more detail, gaining expert knowledge that can help them access more advanced and lucrative job opportunities.
The Workshop has been designed with the learning objectives, which majorly helped to identify operations or International Business as a career option and provide students with the preliminary steps to pursue the operations or IB specialization with more enthusiasm.
Contents covered in the session
The sessions will comprise of topics related to stock market starting from the basics.
As the session started with the speakers’ introduction and his expertise and experience in the areas of operations and international business. Mr D Eregamani initiated his talk by introducing the concepts of supply chain management using simple case examples. Later he discussed input –processes – output concept using MTR as an example. He also discussed incremental improvement and breakthrough improvement and established the link between MBA operations with industry.
In the second part, Mr Eregamani narrated about his experience in international marketing and sourcing using live cases. He highlighted - Import/export, Translator, Foreign currency investor advisor, Foreign sales representative, International management consultant are the various roles that an MBA –IB specialization student can explore. He also mentioned Tech Mahindra, IBM, Google and many IT and other sectors hire students with International Business specialization. In the last, Mr Eregamani stated that the availability of job opportunities at international space is more and students with adequate skill-set can grab those opportunities.
