On 11th March 2023, the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at REVA University, in association with the Physical Department, organized an intra-department cricket tournament event. The event was open to all B. Tech and M. Tech students of the School of EEE. The tournament was conducted by the Sports Club of EEE and was hosted under the Elite Forum.
Nine teams participated in the tournament, with each team comprising students from all semesters and divided into teams based on their sections. The teams were named EEE ALPHAS, EEE RENEGADES, EEE ABHYUDAY, EEE CHALLENGERS, EEE THUNDERBIRDS, EEE VIPERS, EEE RISERS, EEE PHOENIX, and EEE HAWKS.
The nine teams were divided into two groups: Group 1 had five teams, and Group 2 had four teams. The competition was intense, and all the teams gave their best efforts to win the tournament. In the end, the students of the EEE ALPHAS team emerged as the winners of the tournament, while the EEE ABHYUDAY team secured the runners-up position.
The tournament aimed to boost the confidence of the students and promote team building by providing them with an opportunity to participate in such competitions. It also aimed to highlight the sports skills, particularly cricket skills, of the School of EEE, in addition to their academic accomplishments.
The event was organized by the School of EEE, REVA University, in association with the Physical Department and the Elite Sports Club. The convener of the event was Dr. Raghu CN, the Director of the School of EEE, while the coordinators were Prof. Doddabasappa N and Prof. C Jaya Krishna. The tournament was held at the REVA University Ground.
