As part of the first assignment, the students observed human behaviour and identified issues/interventions in different zones of the REVA campus. They came up with designs of shading devices, seating, photo booths, etc. They had detailed their designs using space frames/tubular trusses/north light trusses, thus attempting to integrate the subjects Architecture Design and Building Construction.

 They had also given a thought to which materials they will be using to execute their designs, and in extension a suitable model making material at a scale of 1:50, the quantity required for the same. Materials suggested to them include hollow/flat SS/MS, PVC, timber, bamboo members, joinery - ball, gusset plates, welding. Suggested model making materials include toothpicks, BBQ sticks, straws, ice cream sticks, broomsticks, filecard, glue, etc.

 They compiled all this information in a scrapbook which was used for the model making workshop. Ar. Samskruthi helped students express their design through 1:50 scale models.
