Podcast Competition

Department of Media Studies, School of Arts and Humanities of REVA University conducted mobile podcast competition for which the students could send their entries from 10th to 20th August 2020. The students were encouraged to participate in big numbers. The submissions were made directly into a folder using the MS Teams app. The competition got 20+ student entries. Students from various programmes contributed with great enthusiasm. Every participant had to submit an audio file. Time was capped between 40 seconds to 1 minute audio recording. Any device was allowed to be used for the creation. The theme of the competition was “Sounds of new normal”, and the students were expected to keep their submissions relevant to the theme. The criteria for judging were originality, clarity, creativity. The event gave an exposure to the students to think creatively and explore mobile apps as technology. The theme of the competition also encouraged the participants to discover a creative angle for their submissions during the times of pandemic. 
The student coordinator was Anasuith – V Sem BA JEP and the faculty coordinator was Prof. Bhagyalakshmi Balachadnran. The entries of the participants were judged by Prof. Manjunath and Prof Sudeshna Das. The winners were Victoria Fernandez and Team (III Sem BAJEP- I Place, Pavitra Bhat (III Sem BAJEP) - II Place and Gitanjali (III Sem. – BA JEP) - III Place. The students expressed their joy for creating a platform to explore their new creative skills.
