Department of Chemistry, School of Applied Sciences, REVA University, Bengaluru, had organized Webinar Talk on Future of jobs and economy: Post Covid-19 on 06.06.2020 at 9.00am 10am.
Speaker: A C N Murthy, a charter President of Vidyaranyapura Rotary club, Bengaluru.
Following points were explained:
Impact of Covid-19 on personal, social and professional fronts. Changes in habits and lifestyle due to lock down. Lessons learnt from lock down and how vulnerable we are.
Impact of Covid-19 on different sectors
Job market, constructions, hotel, travel, automotive, agriculture, banking, movie/malls etc. are most affected. Pharma, healthcare, internet, insurance, online tools, etc. are benefited.
Tips to adapt for the future
Adapt to online tools, work from home, virtual office, online classes/interviews etc. Focus to mainly survive for next 6 months. Segments such as mobile, API, electronics, pharma are expected to get investments from companies moving out of china. Keep a watch on these segments for jobs as well as investment opportunities.
Finally, speaker simplified all the questions raised by students and faculties. The lecture was attended by all our M.Sc. chemistry 2nd and 4th semester students, research scholars and faculties of Chemistry through Webinar meeting REVA University.
