The Department of Chemistry-SoAS in association with IRRC, REVA University organized an International Expert Talk on “A Carbon Solution to the Carbon Problem: The Methanol Economy”.
Dr. G. K. Surya Prakash, University of Southern California, USA was the chief guest and expert who spoke about utilization of saturated hydrocarbons including methane as raw materials to synthesize value added compounds. Use of hydrocarbons and oxygenated hydrocarbons (particularly methanol) as fuels in direct oxidation fuel cells.
