Report on Awareness programme regarding Global warming and COVID-19

Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Sciences conducted an awareness programme towards global warming and COVID -19 at St. John English School, Amruthahalli, Bangalore on 10.3.2020. The awareness programme was conducted under the Jagruthi initiative programme conducted by REVA University. The programme was conducted by students of B.Sc. BBG students under the supervision of Head of department Prof. Renuka Madhu, Dr. Prabhakar Mishra and Dr. Guruprasad NM. The awareness programme initiated with the presentation about the global warming, its complicated scenario and measures to reduce this threat of global warming. Simultaneously another presentation was delivered by the students which provided the information about COVID-19, about the corona virus and all precautionary measures which would help a common man to be away from this life-threatening disease.
Post presentation the Quiz competition was conducted for school children on the theme of global warming and corona virus. At last there was a short skit being conducted by university students to make the audiences understand the COVID-19 and its lethal complications, also how people can save themselves from COVID-19 through implicating the precautionary measures like regular wash of hands by soap, wearing mask at crowded place, use of sanitizer etc. At last the winners of quiz competition were awarded with different prizes and the school authority was thanked for their support towards making the programme successful.
