The Student Council of REVA University School of Architecture had organized a week-long event for the new first years of the department to engage in interac-tive activities with one another and their seniors.
Key events:
· Retro day
· Pop Culture day
· Mismatched day
· Halloween 2.0
Retro Day
Retro day was the first of the week’s events, held on 15/03/21, with the primary idea of students being dressed in retro clothes, from any era ranging from the 50’s to the 90’s.
Students were enthusiastic about this and took part whole heartedly. Aside from this, they were made to fill out a questionnaire to tell the seniors a little bit more about themselves and had a runway walk in the last hour of classes.
Pop Culture Day
Pop Culture day followed retro day, on 16/03/21, where students were challenged to channel pop culture icons or references from the last decade in their clothing for the day.
The 1st years were given a bingo card each, with certain characteristics men-tioned on each square, to be signed by a senior who fit in those character traits. They were eager to do it and took part with great gumption.
Mismatched Day
The third day was ‘Mismatched day’ and the students donned typically not seen together combinations and strutted their stuff on another runway walk. The task of the day was to recreate a popular internet meme and they did so, ensuing in complete hilarity and joy.
Halloween 2.0
The fourth and final day was Halloween themed, where all the students of the new batch dressed in spooky costumes, ranging from ghosts to zombies and had a final interactive session where they got to know their seniors of the graduating batch of 5th years.
The event was an overall success and had active participation from the 1st years, who did not miss a beat and delivered every single day, as well as the seniors who enjoyed getting to know their juniors as much as they could.
