Event: Digital Media Activity - Mobile Photography

Department of Media Studies, School of Arts and Humanities of REVA University conducted Mobile photography competition for which the students could send their entries from 15th to 18th August 2020. The submissions were made directly to email Id of the faculty in-charge. There were 23 student entries for the competition. Students from various programmes participated in the event with great fervour and enthusiasm. It was an individual event. Every participant had to submit one photograph that was photographed with the help of a mobile phone. The theme of the competition was “The new normal”, and the students were expected to keep their submissions relevant to the theme. The criteria for judging were creativity, basic photographic composition and relevance to the theme. The event gave an exposure to the students to think creatively and explore mobile photography. The theme of the competition also encouraged the participants to discover a creative angle for their submissions during the times of a pandemic.
The student coordinators were Macdiel – III Sem. MA and Sandeep - III Sem. MA and the faculty coordinator was Prof. Chandan Raikar. The entries of the participants were judged by Prof. Bhagyalakshmi. The winners were Kuotsho Koza (III Sem. MA Journalism) - I Place, Kumari Ankita (III Sem. MA English) - II Place and Tenzin Palkyi (III Sem. – BA JEP) - III Place. The students expressed their joy for creating a platform to display their creative skills.
