An Expert lecture on Buddhist Architecture was organized by School of Architecture REVA University, for 3rd semester students as part of History of Architecture -III.
As part of REVA University best practice, expert lectures of inhouse faculty are invited for knowledge enrichment through lecture sessions. The lecture aimed at elaborating Buddhist Architecture.
Ar. Anup Kumar Prasad began explaining about Gautama buddha’s life history and formation of Buddhism. He further explained Buddhism and its practices to ease the understanding on the rituals of Buddhism and explained the building typology of Buddhist architecture with examples. He completed his lecture with the inspirations of Buddhist architecture in modern Indian building and Q& A session.
Overall, his session was a complete summary on Buddhist architecture and an attractive visual feast to which students are attracted and understood the Buddhist architecture completely. They were very interactive and appreciated the lecture.
