An Expert lecture on Cave temples and Rockcut Architecture was organized by School of Architecture REVA University, for 3rd semester students as part of History of Architecture -III. 
As part of REVA University best practice, expert lectures of inhouse faculty are invited for knowledge enrichment through lecture sessions. The lecture aimed at emphasis on Hindu Cave temples and Rockcut Architecture in India.

Ar. Neeraja Jayan is a Conservation Architect and Heritage enthusiast. She began explaining about Hindu temples, as a representation of Cosmos and its elements. She further elaborated on evolution of temples and emphasized its beginning as Cave/ Rockcut architecture. She explained the details of Rockcut architecture through examples of Udayagiri caves. She completed the lecture with the explanation on Pallava Marvel, Pancharatha’s of Mamallapuram and Q& A session.
Overall, the session was a complete elaboration on Rockcut architecture which gave understanding and clarity to the students. They were very interactive and are enriched by knowledge through the lecture.
