Department of chemistry School of Applied Sciences frequently organizing Seminars and guest lectures under the banner Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam memorial Lecture Series by national and international speakers and scientists for the benefit of students and the faculty members of the University. In continuation to this, the Department of Chemistry and Physics in Association with R&I Council organised Hands on training on “Microsoft Word: Using Word for Your Research Writing Projects/thesis/article/Research reports” by Dr Venkateswarlu Karodi, Scientist, Materials Science Division CSIR - National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengaluru.
The programme started with brief introduction of the Resource Person Dr. Venkateswarlu by Dr. M. Madesh Kumar.
Dr. Venkateswarlu started the session with recent scenario in Science & technology and how the technology could be used for constructive and destructive purpose through Science.
He has continued the discussion about MS-Word for your research with different ideologies include, • Use of Endnote X7, Citation, H-index, Mandely. • Research gate, Web of Science • Interaction with other institutes • Tips to deliver a technical talk • Research exactly what you need • Steps to be followed to publish a research paper. • How to write funding projects • Purpose of a research talk • How to adopt a winning strategy in research • Use of MS-Word for writing Research reports/projects/articles/thesis.
The participants are very much enjoyed the session, illustrations of eminent scientists and their contribution in research given by Speaker with real data. The Hands-on training was concluded with open discussion followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Sakthivel.
The talk was indeed very useful to the students, researchers and faculty members and expressed to have one more talk in continuation.
