Report on Immersion programme

The School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University organised digital Immersion Programme for the new batch of students enrolled for the graduation courses. The programme was from 23rd July to 5th August 2020. The main intention of conducting the immersion programme was to orient the students about the courses and the programme chosen to pursue. The immersion programme conducted through online platform, Microsoft Teams witnessed great success with almost hundred percent student attendance and friendly teacher-student virtual interaction. 

The first session of the immersion programme titled “REVA Pathway” was conducted by Dr. Payel Dutta Chowdhury, Director, School of Arts and Humanities on 23rd July 2020. She enlightened the students about the opportunities the students can explore once the classes commence. On 24th July, Prof. Manjunatha M highlighted about the career opportunities in arts stream. He responded effectively to the queries raised by students about job opportunities during the session. 

On 27th July, Dr. Prathibha M.V delivered a session on enhancing emotional intelligence. She stressed on the need for good mental health and highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in today’s life. A session on “Self engagement for excellence” was conducted by Prof. Charitra H.G on 28th July. A session on modern communication tools was conducted on 29th July by Prof. Sudeshna Das. A session on digital story telling was conducted by Prof. Sumathi Nagesh on 30th July. On 31st July, Prof. Chandhan Raikar spoke about the importance of photography and gave more information about the relevance of various photography courses. Prof. Suchismita Bastia, in her session titled “Fun with Language” on 3rd August, spoke to the students about how language can be fun, if looked at it from a different perspective. Prof. Nidhi Krishnan spoke about career prospective in corporate communication on 4th August.
On 5th August, TH guest speaker from the media industry, noted south India correspondent for Republic TV, Mr. Sagai Raj shared insights on opportunities in news channels. With huge participation from the student community, the immersion programme was an enormous success. The students not only gained insights from these sessions but were also able to clear their doubts and apprehensions.
