Report on Industrial Visit

Objective: To instill an understanding of photography and Photojournalism 

Students of I Year BA-PEJ along with Prof. Manoj B A, Asst. Professor, School of Arts and Humanities visited the Photo Exhibition at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat on Saturday, 31st August 2019 as part of the industrial visit. A four day photo exhibition was organized by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat from 29th August 2019 to 01st September 2019.

Photos from various walks of life including politics, society, nature and current affairs were exhibited. Mr. Gopinathan K, former Chief Photographer, The Hindu explained the students about the background and importance of photographs. Also, he guided the students about various techniques of photography. He attracted students towards contrast photograps which were depicting the hard realities of life. Mr. Gopinathan narrated different incidents from his professional life and explained the challenges of photojournalism. Students also interacted with Mr. Krishna Kumar, Senior Photographer, Prajavani and other senior photographers. Visit to the photo exhibition was a great learning session for the students.
