The Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Sciences organized an industrial visit for 1st year B.Sc. Biotechnology students on 17.9.019 to Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. Students visited department of plant biotechnology. The students went across various specialized lab in plant biotechnology like Plant DNA Marker lab, Pest control lab, Plant value added products lab etc. These students also learned about various instrumentation and techniques applied in plant biotechnology. Post visit to plant biotechnology lab, the students visited the plant tissue culture where they learned the techniques applied in plant tissue culture. The overall tour was beneficial for students where they learned about the plant and agricultural science and various research aspects related to it.
