Industrial visits help the students to provide an exposure about practical working environment and to gain full awareness about industrial practices. In this concern School of Mechanical Engineering organized a visit for 4th semester students to HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum, Bengaluru. Around 45 students and two faculty members got benefited from this industrial visit.
HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum is a virtual wonderland for Aviation enthusiasts and history buff, an unforgettable experience that is entertaining & enlighting at the same time. This is a first of its kind in India established in 2001, is situated in HAL Old Airport Road. There are two major halls, one displaying the photographs that chart the growth of aviation in each decade from 1940 till date. Aircraft such as MARUT, MIG-21, HT-2, KIRAN, CANBERRA, AJEET, DHRUV, HANSA, IJT, LAKSHYA is displayed in outside. A Library on Aerospace provides opportunity to trace the exciting development of the industry since the 1940s. While the Museums’ prized possessions include various types of Aircraft models on static display, the availability of Audio-Video facility and display of translides enhances the experience immeasurably.
By this industrial visit students are able to understand the different types of aircraft and identify the difference between Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and MCA and also understand the different types of materials used for fabrication of LCA and MCA.
